Abstract
Hipping safety is influenced by several factors, including the use of navigation aids, the role of the harbormaster, and the responsibility of the captain. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is an effect of the Use of Assistive Facilities for Navigation, the Role of the Harbormaster, the Responsibility of the Headmaster on shipping safety at the port of Tanjung Pinang. In this study, the research population was ship crews in KSOP class II Tanjung Pinang with a sampling system of 100 respondents (sample). The variables in the study consisted of: the independent variable of the use of navigation aids (X.1), the role of the harbormaster (X.2), and the responsibility of the captain (X.3) and the dependent variable, namely shipping safety (Y). The research model is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the analysis with the statistical tools of SPSS V.22 program obtained multiple linear regression equations Y = 0.833 + 0.223X1 + 0.460X2 + 0.245X3 + µ. The results of multiple linear equations show that there is a positive and significant influence between the Use of Navigation Assistive Facilities on Shipping Safety (t count 2.580> t table of 1.98472), the role of the harbormaster on shipping safety (t count 4.047> t table of 1.98472), The responsibility of the captain on shipping safety (t count 2.597> t table of 1.98472), individually the use of navigation aids, the role of the harbormaster, and the responsibility of the captain have an effect on shipping safety. The influence of the three research variables is very strong with the coefficient value (R Square) obtained at 61.9% for shipping safety and 38.1% influenced by undetected variables in this study.
