Abstract
This research is motivated by the increasing needs of the community, including in the field of toll road services that are easy and fast. Toll roads are one of the service sectors that are in great demand by the public today. Over time, the demand for services using toll roads has increased and must be developed. In addition, the increase in the number of toll road service users also causes many negative impacts. This study aims to see the influence of vehicle conditions, human factors and environmental physical conditions on vehicle accidents that occur on toll roads. The population in this study were users of the Madiun - Surabaya toll road. While the sample in this study were 100 respondents. The sampling technique in this study is nonprobability sampling and the type of sampling used is incidental sampling. Analysis of the data used in this research is descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of (software) Statistics Package for Social Science (SPSS). The results of the research by testing the hypothesis t-test partially showed that vehicle conditions, human factors and physical environmental conditions had a negative and significant effect on vehicle accidents on the Madiun - Surabaya toll road. Based on the research results it can be seen that the multiple linear equation research model is: Y = 12.201 - 0.257X1 - 0.102X2 - 0.146X3 - µ. It can be seen from the regression results that vehicle conditions (X1), human factors (X2), and environmental physical conditions (X3) have a negative and significant effect on the occurrence of accidents (Y). And from the regression equation, it can be seen that the most dominant variable affecting vehicle accidents is the human factor variable with a coefficient of 0.102. And the R2 (R Square) test results are 0.528 or 52.8%, which means that the variables of environmental physical conditions, human factors and vehicle conditions as well as other factors that influence the occurrence of vehicle accidents on the Madiun - Surabaya toll road are 52.8%, and other factors that influence the occurrence of accidents on the Madiun - Surabaya toll road amounted to 47.2% or 0.472. Keywords: vehicle conditions, human factors, physical conditions and vehicle accidents.
