Abstract
Maintenance and Operation of Fuel Oil in Improving Fuel Quality at the Ferry VIII Dharma Ship PT. Dharma Lautan Utama Purifier is a component of fuel or lubricating oil which functions as one of the cleaners of fuel and oil, which is most effective when compared to other components. Water and solid particles and oils of different gravity can be separated by the presence of gravity, with precipitation, but this method requires a long time, and it is not possible to change the acceleration to accelerate the separation process, but by using the centrifugal force produced with fast rotation, where the gravitational force is replaced by centrifugal force will produce a thousand times greater separation force. The main objectives of the maintenance and operation of this fuel oil purifier are to find out in detail how to overcome the damage to the Fuel Oil Purifier. The method used is the experimental and verification method. The results of the discussion about this purifier so that the fuel produced by the purifier remains in good condition. deepen understanding of the causes and how to repair damaged membrane reducing valves so that over flow and maintenance of bowl components so that the performance of the purifier is more optimal so that damage to the Fuel Oil Purifier can be minimized.
