Abstract
OPERATION SYSTEM AND MAINTENANCE OF WINDLASS ON THEKN. TB. ARMADA 1, PT PERIKANAN NUSANTARA Windlass or anchor machine is an anchor crane-mounted anchor system for the purpose of lifting and stretching anchors and anchor chains through an hawse pipe anchor tube. The main usefulness of windlass is as a connector or towing chain and anchor. Windlass has the ability to lift anchors from 30 - 60 meters depth. Based on the backround which have been published, so the problem in this researchcan be identified to one focused problem in case of each one that have relationship between one another so can be concluded the operational problems on the windlass that often occur on the worn-out of brake canvas, maintenance at windlass shaft and windlass casing. Results of treatment periodically at TB. ARMADA 1. points out that by performing periodic treatments on replacing of brake canvas.
