Abstract
The process of shipping goods by sea has been known and implemented for a long time by the public at large. Because it is considered more economical and faster, because it can load a large amount of cargo on a voyage from one island to another. In connection with the increased flow of goods to the port area, shipping companies open new agents in each port to handle non-owned vessels. In collecting data, the authors use primary data and secondary data. Primary data is done by interview directly to the parties involved in PT. Gesuri Lloyd Surabaya. While secondary data obtained from books, notes, reports, articles, journals and archives that are usually obtained by the media. From the results of the writing, concluded that submitting a request for arrival and departure of the ship is not using the manual method as before, but using the Inaportnet System which makes it easy for shipping companies to become agents. because the agents do not have to always be at the syahbandar and other related agencies to conduct clearance in / out of the ship. However, the entire system uses a portal (online) that can be accessed at each office. Which is directly controlled by the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia. In becoming an agent for a shipping company PT. Gesuri Lloyd Surabaya also has the obligation to double check ship documents and ship crew documents.
