Abstract
In the agency agency activities to handle the clearance in / out of the ship, the agent must request ship data and documents to take care of all ship activities from the beginning of arrival to departure. The agent will be related to the Agency in the Port area. The purpose of writing this paper is to find out and explain about the Clerance In / Out activities of the ship and to find out what documents must be prepared by the agent for the ship being signed so that the clearance activities run smoothly without obstacles. And find out the problems that often occur in the clearance activities of the ship. The method used in writing this paper uses the method of observation, interviews, and literature. In this case, collecting data in the form of data on the object of observation, as well as a collection of documents and data relating to the ship's clearance in / out activities. Based on the results of the discussion it has been obtained that in the activity of clearance in / out of the vessel the ship plays a very important role in the smooth process of clearance in / out and handling ship documents. The conclusion of this discussion is that the agency has a very important role in the activities of clearance in / out of the ship and handling ship documents and ship cargo documents, from the initial arrival to the departure of the ship.
