Abstract

Providing good disciplinary knowledge will be able to improve the discipline and quality of shipyard workers as dedicated and responsible human resources to work in accordance with the goals and expectations of the company. This study aims to determine the effect of work discipline on shipyard workers through the quality of work, as well as the causes and consequences of decreased discipline and quality of work as part of PT. DOK and SHIP SURABAYA. Several research methods such as conducting direct observations at the place of practice, interviews with workers, and also collecting data from books and information media such as the internet are conducted to find out firsthand the causes and effects of declining discipline and the quality of shipyard workers, and how to cope with these issues. This is so as not to interfere with performance that affects the quality of the company, because the work results of the workers determine the good and bad quality of the company that is often unwittingly negligent in obeying the regulations in the field, so to get maximum results it takes several ways to improve performance such as providing supervision of each job and provide sanctions or warnings for workers who are not responsible and work not according to the schedule and also existing regulations, therefore education and maintaining discipline must continue to be improved. facing the shipyard workers so that the quality of work remains and maintained and provides things that can support discipline and quality of work such as giving bonuses to reward workers who work actively to be more active in doing work and produce work as desired. From the observations made, it can be concluded that increasing the discipline and quality of shipyard workers is very important to get good results.
