Abstract

Comparison of the Use of Electronic Navigation Tools and Conventional Navigation Tools at KM.Gerbang Samudra I The Electronic Navigation and Conventional Navigation Tool is an essential supporting element of a ship. Where the function of the navigation system operates the system refers to the real situation where at the time the ship made a voyage from one port to another port. In the application of electronic navigation tools and conventional navigation tools complement each other. When the ship experiences a situation in which the electronic navigation device is not functioning properly, that is where the application of conventional navigation tools is needed to keep the vessel safely safely. As when a ship has black out the electronic navigation device can not be used it must use conventional navigation tool, when entering the narrow cruise line using electronic and conventional navigation equipment, determine the position where the position coordinates are located using both navigation tools. From the three examples above we can conclude that basically the use of electronic navigation devices and conventional navigation tools have no comparison but complement each other, and both electronic navigation tools and conventional navigation tool is fixed on the usefulness and function of each as a support tool to navigate a ship.
