Abstract
The Importance Of Understanding In It Procedures Operating Element-Element GMDSS As An Effort To Increase Safety Chugged MT.MINAS / P.35 PT.PERTAMINA (PERSERO) Nowadays sea transportation is a necessity and the best alternative in the world trade chain, therefore safe and comfortable voyage is needed. the safety of a voyage is one of the absolute factors that must be fulfilled so that the ship can operate properly. Understanding in it is procedures operating element-element GMDSS on board MT.MINAS / P.35 is on of the increase safety, when the ship sailing or operating cargo. With understand fully element-element GMDSS on the ship in hope all officers and crew more response and more ease in controlling and supervise the danger or a state of around. There are a variated of element-element GMDSS such as: EPIRB, SART, NAVTEX, INMARSAT, VHF, MF, HF, NBDP. The Purpose is to raise the knowledge about operating element-element GMDSS, in order to minimalize even eliminate the tendency to a danger on the ship. Data collection method used is field research using Observation and Interview techniques and literature study method. The results of this study that the the efforts to increase the crew ships’ operating element-element GMDSS on board of MT. MINAS / P,35 owned by PT. PERTAMINA (PERSERO) has been done by safety metting and also has been done according to the rules SOLAS. Key Words : Knowledge, Procedure, Element-Element, GMDSS, Ship.
