Abstract
The Logs Cargo Handling in Correlation With Ship’s Stability and The Safety Voyage of KM. Dahlia Merah Owned by PT. Pelayaran Inti Internasional As time goes by, the human needs are increasing. To fufill that the shapes and capaciy of the transportation is also made to be more sophisticated and large. One of the reliable transportation is a ship. Ship’s have various shapes and types according to the function and cargo, for example is a general cargo which specified on tranportating logs. Where the cargo handling process has it’s own rules. To get a good stowage and stability than it should be supervised and calculed based on the five principles of cargo handling and arrangement. The logs cargo handling in correlation with ship’s stability and the safety voyage of KM. Dahlia Merah owned by PT. Pelayaran Inti Internasional. Data collection methods used were literature study methods, documentation methods and field research methods that used observation and interview techniques. The result of this study that The logs cargo handling in correlation with ship’s stability and the safety voyage of KM. Dahlia Merah owned by PT. Pelayaran Inti Internasional is implemented as stated on the five principles of cargo handlig and arrangements. So, it gets maximal stowage and good ship’s stability which resulted on an ideal condition for a voyage. Keywords : Cargo Handling, Stability, Safety, Logs, KM.
