Abstract
Navigational Basic Knowledge Based On Safety Of Life At Sea (SOLAS) 1974/1978 Regulation On Board KMP. BALIBO Owned By PT.Angkutan Sungai Danau Penyeberangan (ASDP) Indonesia Ferry Navigation on board of a ship is a part of voyage activity that navigate from one place to another. Navigation equipment is very helpful for ship activities while sailing and manouvering especially when entering crowded or narrow waters and while sailing in bad weather conditions. Officers’ knowledge on navigation equipment is very important to assist them when they do their watch on the bridge. The navigational rules and equipment have been listed on SOLAS 1974/1978 Regulation. The purpose of this study is to know navigational basic knowledge based on board Safety of Life At Sea (SOLAS) 1974/178 Regulation. The data collecting method used were field research method using observation techniques and interview techniques and also library research method. The result of this study that navigational basic knowledge based on SOLAS 1974/1978 Regulation is that navigation basic knowledge on KMP. BALIBO has been as listed on the SOLAS 1974/1978 Regulation.
