Water pollution in generals the contamination of water bodies. This from of environmental degration occurs when pollutant are directly or indirectly discharged into water bodies without adequate treatment to remove harmful compounds. Sea water pollution caused by spilling of oil disposing of waste garbage. Many thing were causing the spilling of oil such as the explosion of or tanker accident, tanker operation, and offshore building. The oil spill is on type of pollution that have large and long term effect. That are often load to biological resource and destruction of underwater ecosystem. Some of the effects of oil spills on the sea can be clearly seen as on the beach becomes no longer beautiful to look at, the death of sea birds, fish, and shellfish, or although some of these organisms survived but became dangerous to eat. Long period effects (sublethal) such as changes in population characteristics of marine species or ecological structure of the marine community, this can certainly affect coastal communities who rely more on fishing and cultivation sector. That purpose of this study is to know how to prevent sea water pollution caused of spilling by oil on board of a ship that could happen loading and discharging. The data were field research library research and interview. The resultant of this study were oil boom, absorbent and sawdust, needed the overcome the spillage on board of a ship because chemical liquid were separate the oil with water.
