Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how the process of loading and unloading of dry bulk cargo dock PT. PELINDO 1 (Cabang Tanjung Balai Karimun). This research is located at Jl. Trikora, Karimun, the town of Tanjung Balai Karimun. This researcher uses descriptive type, with a survey method. This type of data consists of primary data obtained through questionnaires and direct observations in the field, while the secondary data sourced from the report documents, the rules relating to the issues to be researched, written and the results of research on the process of loading and unloading of bulk, with quantitative analysis. These results indicate that the general process of loading and unloading of bulk cargo dock PT. PELINDO 1 (Cabang Tanjung Balai Karimun) as seen from the loading and unloading process, namely discipline, safety, confidence, and responsiveness for smooth loading and unloading process that has been said to be the quality of loading and unloading only 60%. Yet there are some indicators that received negative and positive responses from ship owners such as workers' safety, completeness perasarana facilities such as loading and unloading equipment masi less. The advice given is to pay more attention and enhance the loading and unloading facilities and infrastructure. Especially of means of safety and dock facilities.
