Abstract
NAVIGATIN BASIC KNOWLEDGE IN ACCORDANCE THE SAFETY OF LIFE AT SEA (SOLAS) 1974/1978 REGULATION IN MT.BINTULU Create by : Rizal Kurnia Nrp : 145230132 Navigating is part of the activities of sailing from one place to another. Knowledge of navigational tools is essential to assist a duty officer in boarding a ship. The rules on navigational tools on board were at SOLAS 1974/1978. Safety of Life at Sea or in short SOLAS is a marine safety rule. The navigation tool is a useful tool for sailing on the platform. Various kinds of navigation tools in vessel such as: navigation lights, magnetic compass, RADAR, etc. The purpose of the authors compose this scientific paper is to know the basic knowledge to navigate according SOLAS 1974/1978. Data collection methods used in the writing of this paper is the method of Observation, interview method, and method of literature. The result of this paper is that the application of basic knowledge navigates according to SOLAS 1974/1978 in accordance with those required by SOLAS 1974/1978.
