Abstract
The development of the world in terms of safety at sea has begun to develop rapidly. No one can know when an accident occur. This resulting in the need for professionals are expert on search and rescue techniques for water rescue. These professionals are required to have a quick and precise water rescue technique, including appropriate and safe actions. The purpose of this study is to discuss the need for BASARNAS as a team for finding and helping victims on water rescue, which is supported by SAR equipment, and also how to maintain SAR equipment so that they can be use when emergency situation occurs. The method taken by the author from field research carried out during the practice at the Office of the National SAR Agency (BASARNAS) Bandung, are observation and interview to the employees of the National SAR Agency (BASARNAS) and also documentation and literature study from Search and Rescue Books. The result of this study about the equipment and maintenance of search and rescue equipment at Kantor SAR Bandung is that the equipment has been met with the mandatory of search and rescue equipment stated by the Indonesian Goverment.
