Abstract

The development of marine transportation grown so rapidly according to the times. Tanjung Priok Port is one of the largest port on the island of Java that have adequate facilities and to this day the port of Tanjung Priok to prove its role as a gateway to the country by sea. The constraints faced during the loading process, such as unpredictable weather conditions, the deterioration of the label on the dangerous good to be loaded, the lack of documentation of the hazardous load, besides the unpredictable amount of charge becomes an obstacle in the preparation of container load corresponding to Class IMDG - CODE. Lack of maintenance of good loading facilities may also threaten the safety of ships, cargo and humans, loading processes that will be hampered by the lack of proper documentation and uncertainty about the amount of cargo that will be loaded will lead to disruption of the stability of the vessel. Then the ship's officer in this case shall exercise extra control in order to in the process of loading a dangerous cargo in accordance with the rules contained in the IMDG CODE, and ensuring that the documents of the contents are in accordance. In addition to supervising ship officers and crew of the ship must always perform maintenance of loading facilities so that the facility can be used properly.
