Abstract
Selection and Use of the Right Dredging Mechanism on the TSHD King Arthur - 8 According to Soil Materials on the Sea Bed implemented by PT.BINTANG TIMUR BARU BAKTI Indonesia is an archipelago that cannot be separated from commercial shipping. In carrying out shipping activities, several essential things are needed to support these activities, such as ports, shipyards, ports for loading and discharging, jetties. In connection with Indonesian geographic which requires further processing to build these places, a special tool called a Dredger (TSHD) is needed. TSHD has various types of vessels according to the type of geographic or the land type to managed. The purpose of making this paper is to determine the selection and use of proper dredging mechanism for the TSHD.King Arthur - 8 dredger in accordance with the type of soil material at the bottom of the waters. The data collection method used is field research using observation techniques, interview techniques and documentation methods. The results from this paper are that the selection and use of the dredging mechanism is appropriate for TSHD.King Arthur dredging vessels - 8 according to the soil material at the bottom of the water has been carried out in accordance with existing procedures and knowledge.
