Abstract
Diesel engine is internal combustion engine (internal combustion engine), because inside get potential energy (in the form of heat). The mechanical work is obtained from the combustion of fuels carried out within the aircraft itself. The main driving force of the ship is more efficient in the voyage because at the time of motion, the ship's engine is easily shut down and restarted, fuel consumption is more efficient, easier in operation. In order to safeguard from the performance of the host machine, it is necessary to operate and repair the necessary procedures. Operating procedure from the preparation of the parent machine. Repair procedures performed are procedures before overhaul and after overhaul. Overhaul will often be heard by the crew of the ship what if there is damage that must be replaced. Examples of overhaul are: overhaul cylinder liner, overhaul cylinder head, and overhaul piston and piston rings. After mastering the operation of the main engine of the ship is good and correct, it is expected the ship can run well and smoothly. By being able to master a variety of problems, it is expected to be able to find out any problems that require to overhaul, such as cylinder liner worn, cracked, scratched, and valve seat on the cylinder head etched, and smoke chimney that began blackening. After mastering the various improvements on the component, it is expected to produce a good machine and ready to run anytime. Key words : sistym operation and maintanance engine diesel for generator
