Abstract

WINDLASS PROCUREMENT AND CARE IN MT.BUANA MAS PALMYNDO PT.INDOMAS BAHARI MAKMUR Arranged by : YUSUF PURNOMO NRP: 135120169 Windlass or anchor machine is an anchor crane-mounted anchor system for the purpose of lifting and stretching anchors and anchor chains through an hawse pipe anchor tube. The main usefulness of windlass is as a connector or towing chain and anchor. Windlass has the ability to lift anchors from 30 - 60 meters depth. Operating problems in the windlass or anchor engines that often occur include: windlass machine tank leak, hydraulic oil mixed with water, unsuitable oil volume, hydraulic oil overheat. Damage to rubber coupling includes: rubber thinning coupling, electro motor as well as non-torque pump and broken rubber. Damage to the hydraulic hose includes: leaky hose, hose clogged. Results of treatment periodically at MT. Buana Mas Palmyndo points out that by performing periodic treatments to prevent damage in the short term, more scheduled and regular maintenance without waiting for damage to the windlass. When conducting the practice in MT. Buana Mas Palmyndo Windlass hydraulic drive system used safely and efficiently in operation and maintenance. Keywords: Windlass, hawse pipe, hydraulic drive.
