Abstract

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OIL WATER SEPARATOR SV.CANOPUS Oil Water Separator or OWS is an oil purifier / oil separator contained in water supply in the engine room of the ship, OWS is one of the requirements of 1978 ANNEX-1 (regulation No. 1) marpolwhich regulates the procedure of oil waste disposal from ship to sea. The problem that we often encounter in the operation of oil water separator is the pressure on the bilge pump.This problem can be overcome by doing maintenance, and Every engineer on board must know the system of maintenance and operation of Oil Water Separator to avoid damage to ows. But this we can anticipate by way of doing maintenance,asfor the care to be done that is doing the maintenance on the part ows include bilge pump,bilgeseparator,coaliser,piston valve and others.
