Abstract
Analysis of Air Pollution from Exhaust gases in the Main Engine in KM. Simore PT. Janata Marina Indah Semarang Air pollution is one of the problems faced by the global community today, including in the maritime sector, the problem of pollution is very important to be a concern. Because the prevention of air pollution is very important, so it is regulated in MARPOL 73/78 attachment VI which has been changed in the 1997 protocol on ANNEX VI concerning prevention of air pollution from ships. In several countries, regulations have been put in place to prevent air pollution from ships. The main objective of this research is to completely eliminate pollution generated by ships from the marine environment and minimize accidental discharge or accidental waste disposal due to ship activities at sea. From observations and practical experience on land regarding the prevention of air pollution on ships by overhauling high sulfur fuels to low sulfur fuels. Besides doing PMS (Plant Maintenance System) on the engine system related to ship exhaust gas. Efforts to reduce and prevent air pollution on ships in addition to following international rules are also for the creation of a sustainable ecosystem and a healthy environment.
