Abstract

Maintenance of Lifeboat Machinery As Safety Equipment In Emergency Situation On MT. Aspire PT. Dock And Shipping Surabaya (Persero) This paper discusses the maintenance of lifeboat machinery. A ship must have safety and security equipment during an emergency. For this reason, the shipbuilding company complete the ship with lifeboats. Lifeboats are a common and standard ship safety and security equipment. Lifeboat is used to safe the crew from an accident on boat when she is sailing. The purpose this paper is to discuss what problems occured in the maintenance of the lifeboat machinery. After the author knows the problems, the author can repair and maintenance the machinery properly and correctly. The author's hope, this paper will be useful for the readers of this paper. Especially for cadets of Stimart Amni Semarang who will become an officer in the ship. In compiling this paper, the author made observations and conducted direct interviews with chief engineer and the second officer. The author observes MT. ASPIRE when he was on land project field at PT. Dock and Shipping Surabaya (Persero). The conclusion in this paper is the lack of maintenance on lifeboat machines in the MT. ASPIRE. For this it is needed regularly maintenance so that it can be used in an emergency situation. Key words : Maintenance, Lifeboat Machinery, Repairing
