Abstract
“MAINTENANCE SYSTEM AND OPERATION OF WINDLASS MACHINE ON SHIP REPAIR ACTIVITY IN PT. BKI CAB.PRATAMA SEMARANG” Windlass or anchor machine is an anchor crane-mounted anchor system for the purpose of lifting and stretching anchors and anchor chains through an hawse pipe anchor tube. The windlass machine should be placed in the bow of the ship to facilitate the operation of the decline and anchoring. In the installation of windlass engines vessel abandoned, the deck plate in the area of the windlass machine foundation should be reinforced with plate thickening and strong foundation construction. (student, 2015/05 /, Anchor Machine) Some of the usual damage to the anchor machine are: Broken anchor engine gear, anchor engine coolant not running normally, hydraulic oil mixed with water, unsuitable oil volume, hydraulic overheat oil. Damage to leaking hoses and blocked hoses. Periodic maintenance results on the vessel show that with periodic maintenance can prevent damage in the short term, more scheduled and regular maintenance without waiting for damage to the windlass. At the time of carrying out the practice in PT.Biro Classification of Indonesia vessel being surveyed using hydraulic system / windlass drive used safer and more efficient use in operation and maintenance.
