Abstract

The cause of the crack in the cylinder liner generator on the Dharma Kencana Motorboat PT. Dharma Lautan Utama "The Liner Cylinder is one of the engine components that functions as a place for the process of the combustion system, an effort to maintain the lubrication performance of the Liner Cylinder through checking and repairing it in the Liner Cylinder Block so that the operation of the generator can be carried out according to the procedure on board." (Gunawan Hanafi, Dr, 2006). Based on the background of the problem on the Liner Cylinder, problems can be formulated including the occurrence of imperfect lubrication and lack of cooling on the Liner Cylinder which results in cylindrical liner cracking. The purpose of this paper is to find out the occurrence of imperfect lubrication and fatigue in the cooling system. Therefore the author conducted interview observations and data documentation during the practice at PT. Dharma Lautan Utama. In this paper it can be concluded that the causes of incomplete lubrication in the liner cylinders include the lubrication grooves of the cylinder having an enlargement and the lack of a cooling system due to an increase in the temperature of the cooling system. And the suggestion is to always carry out routine checks and maintenance on the cylinder liner. Keywords: lubrication factor, cooling, cylinder liner
