Abstract
Maritime safety is a crucial aspect in ensuring the continuity and reliability of sea transportation systems, especially in Indonesia as an archipelagic country. This study aims to analyze the factors affecting maritime safety on vessels owned by PT Pertamina Port and Logistics Port Panjang Lampung and to prioritize these factors using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. A quantitative approach was employed, focusing on four main variables: the number of safety equipment, the type of safety equipment, the number of crew members, and the vessel’s age. The AHP analysis results indicate that the number of safety equipment is the most dominant factor influencing maritime safety, with a weight of 0.448 (45%), followed by the type of safety equipment at 0.282 (28%), the number of crew members at 0.166 (17%), and the vessel’s age at 0.102 (10%). Among the assessed vessels, MT Gas Patricia obtained the highest score of 0.410 (41%), followed by SPOB Srikandi 515 with a score of 0.305 (31%), and MT CISM 02 with a score of 0.280 (28%). Furthermore, the comparative assessment of alternatives shows that MT Gas Patricia achieved the highest total value of 0.364, placing it in the first rank, followed by MT CISM 02 in second place with a total value of 0.307, and SPOB Srikandi 515 in third place with a total value of 0.326. These findings provide concrete insights for PT Pertamina Port and Logistics to focus their safety improvement strategies on the provision and inspection of onboard safety equipment. Therefore, the application of the AHP method has proven to be effective in supporting data-driven decision-making for maritime risk mitigation and enhancing systematic safety standards within maritime operational environments.
