Abstract

This writing aims to analyze the container loading process and optimization efforts to improve productivity on MV Ever Candid operated by PT Evergreen Shipping Agency Indonesia Semarang Branch. The method used in this writing is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. The results of this writing show that the container loading process is carried out through several stages, including planning (stowage plan), operational coordination, loading execution, cargo securing (lashing), as well as monitoring and evaluation. However, in practice, there are still several obstacles affecting productivity, such as suboptimal coordination among parties, delays in container arrival, equipment conditions, and weather factors. Optimization efforts that can be implemented include improving the quality of loading planning, strengthening coordination and communication among stakeholders, maintaining and ensuring equipment readiness, enhancing human resource competencies, and utilizing information technology in operational activities. With consistent implementation of these optimization strategies, it is expected that container loading productivity can be improved, leading to more effective, efficient, and timely operations. Keywords: optimization, container loading, productivity, stowage plan, port operations
