Abstract

Tanjung Intan Harbor in Cilacap was built by the Dutch East Indies Government on Monday Legi, 29 November 1847 by the Governor General JJ. Rochussen, as a natural port with a geographical position of 07 44'55" south latitude and 109 59'30" east longitude. At the Tanjung Intan Port, Cilacap from the start of the channel to the port location is equipped with navigational aids, as in ports in general. Tanjung Intan Port, Cilacap, provides sufficient and considered Sailing Navigation Assistance Facilities (SBNP). Sailing Navigation Assistance Facility (SBNP) is a naturally constructed or constructed facility outside the ship which serves to assist the navigator in determining the position and course of the ship as well as notifying the dangers and obstacles of sailing for the benefit of sailing safety. and the mechanism for installing and checking the Sailing Navigation Auxiliary Facilities in the working area of the Cilacap Class III Navigation District, the procedures for implementing agencies and institutions in the revitalization program of the Sailing Navigation Aids Facilities, and the Sailing Navigation Auxiliary Facility (SBNP) function in the Cilacap Class III Navigation District working area. This paper was made with the aim that readers can find out the effect of navigational aids to improve shipping safety in Cilacap waters, in this case the author uses the observation method or observations are used to explore how the procedures and mechanisms for checking and installing shipping navigation aids using the method this problem so far can be resolved, the authors obtained the result that the installation of the SBNP must be in a place that is easily observed by passing ships so that passing ships can find signs of safe waters, with the experience possessed by Tanjung Intan port operations can overcome these obstacles.
