Abstract

Anchor is equipment for fastening ship to deep sea,in ocean ,river, or lake so ship can not move because of wind, stream or wave. Anchor is one of required equipment on the ship according to its function to hold the ship stand still.Anchor engine with steam power,hydraulic and electric power, for ship under 200 GRT can use manual crane engine, which used by hand. This type of power has different advantage, such as steam power has huge pontency and shunt from short stream, but ship has had steam boiler, usually for big ship such as tankers.If anchor engine is equipped with chain stopper which installed on forecastle deck, so this equipment has 80% breaking load capability from chain breaking load. If chain stopper un istalled,then anchor engine has to hold the pressure with 80% breaking load with or withouth deformities on the equipment and slip on breaking system.
