Abstract

In order to create loading and discharge activities in accordance with the principle of loading, namely protecting ships, protecting ship crews and protecting coal cargo which it is a dangerous cargo which if unloaded and handled not according to procedure will endanger the crew as well as the ship. alone. Therefore, the authors interested to research problem that includes the procedure for handling and loading and discharge coal in MV. Bulk Batavia by PT. Adhiguna Putera at PLTU Tanjung Jati B Jepara. The purpose of this observation is to determine the procedure for handling and loading and discharge coal. If the loading and discharge activities are not in accordance with procedures and unwanted events occur, this will have a direct effect on the effectiveness of loading and discharge and the loading and discharge activities will experience delays. If loading and discharge experiences a delay, it will affect the operation of the power plant itself, because the availability of coal in the stockpile must be maintained so that the power plant operations continue to run smoothly.Based on the method of observation, qualitative results, interviews and internet sources that the author obtained, it can be concluded that the coal is loaded from MV. Bulk Batavia at the Tanjung Jati B Jepara PLTU jetty using a land crane equipped with a grab then the coal is transported through a conveyor belt and will be brought to the stockpile on the land.
