Abstract

This writing deals with the bunkering mechanism on the MT. Sabrina, there are a number of things in the process of bunkers on MT. Sabrina such as sounding fuel, counting ROB, setting up SOPEP and communications and making sure there are no leakage during the bunker process. The dangers inherent in the process of bunkers themselves include oil spills resulting from leaky hoses, where oil spills spill into the sea would cause damage to Marine biota ecosystems because of the nature of the oil itself. Preventive procedures in case of an oil spill when bunkering was necessary, one kept up a routine of drill sopep and an oil counter method to help sea pollution be quickly overcome. the data of this writing is taken as the author practices aboard the MT. Sabrina ship one of PT. Gebari Medan Segara's ships and is one of the corporate partners of PT. Pertamina (Persero) MT. Sabrina herself is based on oprasion in bitung, north sulawesi by route bitung-tobelo, northern halmahera. The self-practice time begins on October 13, 2019 to 28 October 2020, for over a year the authors have seen several times the process of bunkers which of course served as the basis for this writing. There are several methods of data retrieval by the author during the practice of interviews, observations, field methods, and library reviews. The results of this essay are that the bunker process will be effective in cutting costs and time, as Rully Abdillah Ginting (2018) says that the bunker will be more effective if carried out outside the harbor. But still should be concerned with the safety and security of ship’s crew or Marine environments. Key Words : Bunker, Procedure, Effectiveness
