Abstract

optimalitation performance governor to support Main Engine on board. KN.KUMBA The final task, Program: Teknika, Diploma Program STIMART“AMNI”semarang.. On the ship KN KUMBA where the author practice, theparent engine with SF 180 TA,SP GUASCOR(SPANYOL) made in the year 1972 whit 16 valves that suction valve and exhaust valve. In the working system, the valve opens. With the stability of rotation using a governor that will work when the engine experienced over rotation when the ship experienced a shock that lifted the propeller propeller blades back, that's when the governor works to stabilize the engine rotation, the working principle of the governor is to regulate the entry of fuel when the engine is experiencing over-rotation or low rotation, by utilizing components - components in the governor through the process of balance / balancy. Results of fuel supply enough on the main engine to stabilize the engine speed is connected with the rotation of the camshaft and connect to reg fuel regulate fuel supply from the injection pump to the injector, it can run normally when the governor under normal circumstances and the performance is stable. To maintain the performance of the governor in order to remain stable it is necessary to invent periodic maintenance and checks in accordance with the working hours and view of the condition and performance.
