Abstract

Maintenance of Ship Electricity System to Prevent Damage of Electric Device In The Ship Machineries PT. Pelayaran Korindo Ship electricity system is electric installation which is used on the ship to living up ship electricity needs. Ship electricity system consist of 4 systems: lighting load system, power load system, navigation, communication and safety load system, and emergency source system. Each of system there is differences installation and electric device. So every system has different reparation and maintenance method. The writing of this paper aims to determine the damage that often occurs in the electrical system of ships and electrical devices such as ground faults, earth faults, power quality disruptions, and short connection, detecting the cause of damage, repair techniques to deal with damage and maintenance of electrical devices in an effort prevent the damage. The cause of the damage is due damage at the electrical components, the components and circuit are wet, the components are dirty, the electrical device cables are loose and the cables are peeled off. Electric devices are sensitive components, especially for temperature and water, so that routine checks and proper maintenance are needed according to their components to prevent damage and extend the usage period and facilitate activities on board.
