Abstract
Indonesia is the largest archipelagic in the world, became the largest archipelagic in the world, the security of shipping system in the waters of Indonesia became the main thing that should be taken into consideration. Ships or very important mean for various transportation between island, especially in Indonesia which is an archipelagic country. The safety of a voyage process must be observed so that no life threatening accidents occur and do not damage the marine ecosystem. Therefore it ia necessary to navigate the navigation aids to assist the ship in navigation. These navigation aids are out of the vessel on the sea and inland. The function of the navigation aids is to inform the ship’s captain of the situation in the vicinity and as the boundary of the water area. The navigation aid are managed by the District Navigation. The District Navigation plays an important role in maintaining and repairing of the navigation aids. The maintainance of navigation aids is necessary to keep the navigation aids in good condition. The reparation of navigation aids is also very important as the navigation aids can be damaged at any time by the waves, wind, lightning, etc. The damaged of navigation aids result on fatal and extremely dangerous shipments. The purpose of this study is to determine the maintenance, and the reparation of navigation aids belonging to the Distrik Navigasi Kelas II Semarang for the optimum process of ship manouver in the area of Tanjung Emas Port Semarang. Methods of data collection used literature study, observation, and interview. The results of this study indicate that the maintanance and repair efforts of navigational aids belonging to Distrik Navigasi Kelas II Semarang is very optimal and important for the smooth process of ship manouver.
