Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to find out how the loading and unloading of goods on board, documents, and obstacles experienced by the company during loading and unloading of goods. Given the geographical situation of Indonesia as an archipelago where the area of the ocean is greater than the land area, the means of transport by sea has a large role in connecting cities and islands in the country. One of the roles of shipping companies is as a means of transportation that transports goods from one island to another by sea. So that shipping companies must take care of loading and unloading activities of goods on board as long as the ship is in port. The purpose of the author's observation was to find out the loading and unloading of goods at PT. Atosim Lampung Pelayaran Semarang Branch. The method of collecting data used by the authors in this observation is in the form of books, internet, laws, ministerial regulations, and other sources. The type of observations made by the author is qualitative descriptive. This observation took place at PT. Atosim Lampung Pelayaran Semarang branch. Data sources are obtained from sources (information), events or activities, documents and archives. The results obtained from the writing are loading and unloading, which is transported to and from the ship to be piled into or directly transported to the place of the owner of the goods through the port dock by using loading and unloading equipment, both on the dock and on the ship itself. The loading and unloading of goods includes Stevedoring, Cargodoring, Receiving / Delivery Operations. Stevedoring activities include stevedoring before the ship arrives, after the ship arrives, unloading activities from the ship, unloading ship operation into the truck, unloading to the dock, after the ship departs and the administration is stevedoring. Cargodoring activities include distance, vehicle speed. Receving activities include the pattern of direct freight loads, indirect cargo patterns. The obstacles faced are, natural factors, loading and unloading equipment, human resources and public transportation. Key words :Loading and unloading, loading and unloading implementation.
