Abstract

Study of Procedures of Loading and Discharging of Sand and Coal by Tug Boat and Barge in Tanjung Emas Port of Semarang implemented by PT.Bintang Timur Baru Bakti Loading and discharging are the process undertaken to move the load from ship to shore called discharging and transfer the cargoes from land to ship called loading. In carrying out this process we are required to work by taking into account the efficiency in loading and discharging especially the efficiency of time and also taking into account the safety of ship's cargoes and safety of ship. From that point in order to complete discharging and loading in a timely manner and taking into account the safety of both, vessel safety and cargo safety should the company use proper calculations in discharging and loading and also use more heavy equipment so that this process can run faster to maintain time efficiency in work don’t forget also the company must complete the safety equipment that has been determined. With the method of calculation and this equipment proved the safety of the ship and the load and efficiency of time can be implemented properly. The results of this process also impact on faster loads to the destination and also the ship and the cargo can arrive safely. The percentage of working time can be reduced as well as the safety of ships and cargo are also guaranteed in accordance with the rules of loading. Keywords: Discharging, Loading, Efficiency, Safety
