Abstract
Optimizing Preparation of Load Space and Operating Loading of Oil Product Cargo at MT. NIRBITA PT.CARAKA TIRTA PRATAMA Tanker ships are used by the oil industry for the transport of large quantities of liquids. A common problem in tankers carrying oil loads of either crude oil or ready-made oil is the discovery of nonconformities in meeting the requirements for tank cleaning. Preparation of the loading space prior to the loading process is very important because to prevent contamination of cargo that may harm the ship and the owner of the cargo. Implementation of tank cleaning must be in accordance with the procedure so that the implementation can be optimally as expected by the owner of the cargo. The crew members carrying out the tank cleaning should wear safety equipment and check the gas levels in the tank when entering the tank to avoid unwanted things. The purpose of this paper is to find a solution to the less optimal problem in cleaning the tank before loading. The method used in this paper is to use field studies that include direct review or observation and interviews and using literature study methods. The conclusion of this writing is the lack of maximum implementation of tank load preparations that have been made on board. The result of this paper is the tank preparation process in accordance with the procedures in the International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminals (ISGOTT).
