Abstract

Navigating is a part of a sailed ship from one place to another place. Knowledge of navigation equipments is very important to assist an officer to doing watch on bridge during ship in sailing. The method is using from interview and descriptive. The purpose that writter compile scientific writing is to know and understand the role of ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System) equipment additional and electronic navigation to be able to safety navigation, improve officer of the watch to operate ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System) and electronic navigation instruments other support, increasing awareness to the company in KM.SEGARA IBU about how importance of ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System) in navigation on board. Based on this research can be concluded that the lack of knowledge by the officer of the watch on the role of ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System) and navigation tools and other supporting electronics on board KM.SEGARA IBU, and also a lack of concern for the company to ECDIS navigation equipment (Electronic chart Display and Information System) equipment and other supporting electronic navigation on board, and increasing awareness of the company in KM.SEGARA IBU importance of ECDIS navigation equipment (Electronic chart Display and Information System)equipment and additional electronic navigation.
