Abstract
INSPECTION OF CHECKING THE THICKNESS OF BOTTOM PLATE SHIP MV. GLADIOLUS SEJATI IN PT. JANATA MARINA INDAH 1 SEMARANG ACCORDING TO THE RULES OF PT. BIRO KLASIFIKASI INDONESIA PT. BIRO KLASIFIKASI INDONESIA (Persero) is a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) appointed by the Indonesian government as an institution whose function is to inspect construction on ships and other vessel equipment. BIRO KLASIFIKASI INDONESIA. And how to repair the plate and remove with cipping and painting methods. Based on the data collected, the authors draw conclusions. The tool for checking bottom plate thickness has been set by PT. INDONESIA CLASSIFICATION BUREAUs used include: Ultrasonic tests, Hammer experiments and hammering tests, Test holes or test holes and Linear dial gauges. In the inspection check the thickness of the bottom plate in the implementation there are several work steps that are in accordance with standard procedures including: Preparing PPE, cleaning the plate from rust, paint and dirt attached by tapping the plate using a hammer, making sure the surface is clean from dirt, then applying a couplant evenly on the part you want to inspect using ultrasonic thickness. This is done to facilitate the propagation of ultrasonic waves in the probe to the test object, calibrate the instrument first before carrying out checks, the calibrated probe is attached to the workpiece then moved gradually evenly on the part to be inspected, noting the conditions based on inspection results with chalk or a marker. Take photos based on the results of tests conducted to report equipment and record all inspection results on the hull of the ship.
