Abstract
Bow Thruster is a propeller on the bow of a ship to deflect the ship during manouver. Bow thruster sucks water from the side of the ship and ejects it through the other side of the vessel so the ship can move left or right. Bow thruster at KM. Kumala is a very important aid plane. Operation and maintenance should be done. Bowling thruster problems that often occur include: lack of lubrication on the hydraulic pump that can lead to wear, excessive vibration, corrosion and packing leakage. Damage to electromotor and oil seal hydraulic pump, and degree of pitch control that does not respond. After performing the operation according to the procedure on KM. Kumala and the performance is not optimal then shows that lubrication can not run optimally. After getting a solution to the bow thruster repairs that the pitch degree does not respond, the bow thruster will run well and smoothly. Then the cause of the disruption of lubrication on the bow thruster auxiliary is the lack of checks on the hydraulic pump oil that causes the sound so that the auxiliary aircraft can not achieve maximum lubrication and cause crust and corrosion.
