Abstract

OPTIMIZATION OF MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF RESH WATER GENERATOR TO MAINTAIN PRODUCTION AT MT.DAMAI SEJAHTERA 8 PT.MAXIMA MARITIMA INDONESIA Aboard ships the role of fresh water is very important to support operation of the ship, fresh water is used among others for the needs in the engine room as a cooling jacket main engine, cooling diesel generator, auxiliary engines and other, in accommodation fresh water used for galley, bath, and washing , while on the deck fresh water used to clean the cargo hold. This was created an equipment that it called Fresh Water Generators, aircraft maker fresh water by way of evaporating the sea water in the evaporator ( Evaporator) and sea water vapor are cooled by means of condensation in the air condenser (condenser), resulting in condensation water called condensate. Two type of fresh water generator there are high pressure fresh water generator and low pressure fresh water generator,there are main parts is not so different , including :condenser, evaporator, ejector pump, destillate pump, salinometer, selenoid valve, pressure vacuum gauge, sight glass, thermometer, deflector and demister where in every component should be take maintenance to prevevnt of damage and caused down production of fresh water.
