Abstract

Operations and Maintenance Turbo Charger in MT. PELUMIN SATU Prepared by Ahmad Fatkhullah NRP. 135120010 Turbo Charger is a piece of auxiliary machinery, to increase the amount of air enters to the cylinder by harnessing the energy of the exhaust gas pressure. If previously relied on air intake vacuum formed because the piston movement in the intake stroke, then by air Turbo Charger pressed into the cylinders using a blower side that is rotated by the exhaust gas turbine. So important role in supporting Turbo Charger diesel engine performance, it is necessary to check and maintenance in order to stem fixed maximum engine performance. it needs to be checked and maintenance in order to stem fixed maximum engine performance. The treatment includes: maintenance of the lubricating oil, maintenance on the turbine and compressor side, as well as other treatments. Checking the intercooler was required in order to determine whether the air generated Turbo Charger really good. Clean the air filter is also important to preserve the cleanliness of the air entering the Turbo Charger so that no foreign objects come inside After following the regular maintenance, it will be detected whatever be the result of treatment, such as: Keeping Turbo Charger continue to work optimally, Avoid friction on the moving machine, Avoiding damage to the larger / heavier, Minimizing the damage that will be happened to Turbo Charger. From the result of the treatment is expected similar damage does not happen again because it has found a solution. It is also expected engine performance also remains opotimal, due to regular maintenance. Keywords : Turbine, Compressor, Intercooler.
