Abstract

MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION FUEL OIL PURIFIER TO SUPPORT QUALITY OF FUEL OIL ON BOARD AT PT. DOK AND PERKAPALAN SURABAYA The development of shipping is increasingly advanced, while Indonesian seafarers lack understanding of maintenance procedures. Maintain procedure must be known by Indonesian seafarers. The author takes the formulation of the problem about how to operate the fuel oil purifier, and how to maintain fuel oil purifier. The aim is to find out how the fuel oil purifier works, and how to treat fuel oil purifier. The function of this paper as the requirement to take the Diploma Program for Engineering. PT. Dock and Shipping Surabaya is a state-owned enterprise located in Surabaya. This company is engaged in the construction and repair of ships. In this paper the author uses the method of observation, interviews, documentation, and library resources to complete scientific data. The discussion of how the fuel purifier works, and the operation of the fuel oil purifier must be in accordance with the procedure. While the way to maintenance the purifier. It should be routine once a month. How to deal with trouble shoting by checking or replacing damaged components, such as gravity discs, sealing water, and oil seal damage. The author's conclusions in this paper include a book guide on the operation of purifiers, routine maintain of purifiers by checking and cleaning components. While the suggestions from the authors do purifier treatment according to the procedure. As well as doing purifier treatments once a month. . Key words : Maintenance, Operation, Fuel Oil Purifier.
