Abstract
Sucker Dredger (Suction Dredger) work by sucking material through a long pipe like it’s vacum cleaner, where it’s work is influenced by engine rotation. Machines connected to the pump as sucking material before being accommodated in a reservoir. (Zainal Arifin MT, 2000) There is different driving machine at the dredger pump and the main draiving machine on the ship. The only difference is only on objects that are in motion or that rotated by the parent machine, when on dredger machine, the diesel engine rotated the saht connected to the centrifugal pump with high rotation to suck the dredger material. While on the main driving machine rotating the shaft associated with propellers as a tool of motion of the ship. Since the two drives are not different then the system of manitenance and operation of the engine is not much different from the main engine on the ship. Therefore, to operate the engine driving the dredger pump in order to obtain maximum power, by way of maintenance of the driving machine and dredging pump wich must always be carried uot periodically to the components and system of diesel engine driving the dredger pump.
