Abstract

How To Work and Maintenance Interlock System Safety Device On Main Engine In KN. GANDIWA P.118 Badan Pengusahaan Batam Interlock System Safety Device Is a method to prevent unwanted conditions on the engine so that the main engine does not occur damage. The interlock system is made using a Programmable logic controller (PLC). Programs are made with certain software which is then integrated into the PLC. Automatic control as a controller and final controlling element are tools that are added to the control system so as to reduce or eliminate human intervention in the control process. In addition, before an automatic control system is executed, it must first be ensured that manual control of the equipment is as good as automatically. In an automatic control system, a control system can be assembled with the other by cascade and connected with an interlock system / shutdown device that can stop the operation. The interlock system can guarantee the equipment operation shutdown procedure runs safely. So important is the role of the Interlock System Safety Device in on the ship, it is necessary to check and maintain so that the performance remains maximum. Caring for the electronic components and checking the smoothness of the valve fuel oil safety device, maintenance of these components is carried out when performing maintenance, checking the lube oil pump alarm must be done to determine the low oil pressure in the cylinder. After regular maintenance, it will detect anything that is the result of treatment. From these results, it is expected that the main engine performance will be perfect and optimal, then the ship will sail nationally and not be afraid of damage.
