Abstract
OPTIMIZATION OF COOL WATER TREATMENT PARENT MACHINES TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO BE DAMAGE IN SHIP MT. BUANA MAS PERSADA PT. INDOMAS BAHARI MAKMUR Cooling system is a system with function to protect the engine. So the temperature of the engine keep in ideal condition. Cooling system is required and very important to be held. Based on the heat balance on the engine. So the function of cooling system of the main engine becoming very important. To simplify the using of cooling system need to be held the maintenance plan based on the procedure of guidance book of cooling system. With the maintenance, then we know every constraints when the maintenance is done. For the writer, it will increase knowledge as profesional engineer. And also help for the public with purpose to knowing the details about cooling system and how to maintenance. The method that used is field research. Data and information that obtained from observation is by direct observation on field where the writer doing the practice. Other that method, the writer also using the literature review library research. It’s we can get by reading and learning from the books related to the issues discussed. MT. Buana Mas Persada PT. Indomas Bahari Makmur operate in area Bekapai for anchor job, running cargo and other else. To support the ships operation, the maintenance of cooling system need to be noticed. With result that found when writer has been observation, the problrm can be finished well. The writer found that cooling system must be repaired and maintened as routine as possible. From the explaining above, there are two kinds of cooling system on board, open cooling system and closed cooling system. If the cooling system less in attention, it may causing over heat in the main engine. So, the writer recommend to always keep the cooling system and these supporting device. And also remind to always check the temperature and pressure of the water inside the component. Keywords: Cooling System, Main Engine, Maintenance.
