Abstract

Operation Of Main Machine Cooling fresh water Pump And Maintenance at KM. King Arthur’ System PT. Janata Marina Indah Diesel engines are the main driving machines that must be strived to be able to support the smooth operation, such as auxiliary machines and other fittings in the engine room which is a system that supports each other in the main engine operations. One of the auxiliary aircraft that supports the operation of the main engine is the sea water cooling pump which functions to cool down the main engine on the ship. Because a machine that operates will burn, so it will cause heat or radiation. If cooling is not optimal, the engine temperature will increase, and will affect material changes. The equipment that supports the operation installed on the main engine that is not resistant to high heat, when exposed to high heat will not operate according to its function. So that's why the cooling pump is installed on the main engine in order to absorb excessive heat in the main engine. So here is the pump maintenance needed to support the main engine performance in the KM. KING ARTHUR The results of the analysis and research prove that it is important for someone to know how to turn on the right sea water pump so that when the pump really works, there is no excessive heat that can interfere with the pump's performance due to high heat and pressure and the importance of periodic maintenance of the pump, because if it is not fulfilled then what happens when sailing practice is that the main engine is difficult to control or there is a high exhaust temperature.
