Abstract
The purpose of writing this paper explains then responsibilities of Kantor Kesyahbandaran dan Otoritas Pelabuhan Kelas II Tanjung Balai Karimun in the safety of shipping. Based on the use of literature research methods concluded that the purpose of writing this paper to find out how far responsibility syahbandar in security and safety of shipping The task of supervision by a syahbandar in the framework of arranging facilities and infrastructure of sea transportation operations implementations is very important. A person syahbandar in his duty must also ensure awareness of the users of marine transportation service such as companies, ship owners, crew to obey the laws and regulations. The actions it undertakes are in order to enhance the supervision, security and safety of matters relating to the voyage. Security and safety of shippingis an important factor to support the smoothness of sea transportation and prevent accidents where the shipping line is intended to ensure the security and safety of shipping through the corridor for ships sailing across the waters followed by marking for the danger of navigating.
