Abstract
The port is a link between two types of transportation namely land transportation and sea transportation. Without the integration of these two modes of transportation, the smooth distribution of a particular commodity will be greatly disrupted. Optimization of port is influenced by agency which become supporting performance in its activity. In this case PT. Bahtera Bestari Shipping acts as a seaport agent that takes care of the arrival and departure of the vessel and takes care of the needs of the vessel and monitor the implementation during the port. The main role of the agency objective focuses on knowing the activities in clearance in / out management. Interviews and documentation shipping agency to produce data in the arrival and departure on process appropriate procedures and observation as a means to direct assessments from the field during practice. The results achieved by using descriptive research can be conclusion that agency ship has been through the operational already perform the performance of arrival and departure in accordance with procedural of regulation. The relevant parties already provide maximum service. The ship's complementary certificate is in conformity with the provisions stipulated by the regulations. Shipping agency activities has been presented in this paper is an agent of port activities associated with optimal performance in providing service according to regulations.
