Abstract

This paper was made to get a deeper picture and understanding of the role of PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia III in the Tanjung Perak Surabaya Mirah Terminal in carrying out container loading and unloading as a dock / container terminal provider and loading and unloading company. Container terminals are getting higher with better performance so that they are able to guarantee the smooth transportation of goods, stacking of containers, how to handle loading and unloading containers, documents needed. In collecting data, the author uses primary data and secondary data. Primary data is done by interview. While secondary data is obtained from books, records, reports, and archives that are usually obtained from the media. The data collection method used is observation which is to see firsthand the activities carried out by PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia III. The results of this paper can be concluded that PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia III Tanjung Perak Branch Surabaya as a company engaged in services. Especially as executors of loading and unloading activities which are known as activities that support the smoothness of and to the ship to a port so that loading and unloading activities to and from the ship have an important position.
