Abstract

The main discussion in writing this paper is about the process of dismantling general cargo by PBM PT. Persero Batam. There are several background problems that must be resolved by the author, namely those who oversee the loading and unloading activities, related agencies, and the documents needed in the handling of loading and unloading activities. PT. Persero Batam is a loading and unloading company that serves the demolition and loading of general cargo. The purpose of writing this paper is none other than to find out the parties who supervise the loading and unloading activities, related agencies, and documents used in the loading and unloading activities. Based on data collection carried out during observation, the author uses several methods, namely interviews, observation, document study, and focus group discussions and the sources and types of data. The results of the discussion of this paper are the process of dismantling general cargo by PBM PT. Persero Batam to be able to dismantle general cargo from the ship, there are stages that must be done. Constraints that most often occur when loading include factors such as damage to the loading device. So that in the process of demolition of coal, it is necessary to pay attention to checking the loading tools and facilities carefully so that when the process of dismantling does not occur obstacles that hinder.
